Ten hours for a four-hour task, then nothing
He was told the take-home would take a few hours, maybe four. It took him roughly ten, spread across two days. He handed it in and waited the fortnight they had asked him to wait, then emailed. Then emailed again. Then sent a direct message to one of the founders.
Nothing came back.
Two other candidates replied to this comment to say the same company had done
the same thing to them. One was told only that the solution wasn’t
satisfactory; asking what that meant produced a note about evaluation criteria
honed over years of experience, which the company does not share outside.
