Six interviews, then nothing
He was laid off, and applied to run communications at an advertising technology company. It was not a screener and a callback — it was the full tour. An internal recruiter. The CMO. Then four more executives, each with their own slot in the diary.
Then nothing.
Six rounds is not a company too small to have a process. It is a company with
enough process to spend a CMO’s attention and four executives’ calendar time
on one candidate, and still not enough to send two lines at the end. At that
scale the silence stops looking like an oversight and starts looking like what
happens once a candidate has stopped being useful to anyone’s diary.
