Four rounds, a paid take-home, then silence
Nearly a month into the process, the candidate had completed four rounds. One was a team panel. Another commitment was a paid take-home project that took about six hours of a weekend.
Then the wait, in the candidate’s words: “The recruiter said they’d get back to me within one week. One week passed, nothing.”
The candidate had already given the process interviews, project work and personal time. The promised reply was the small part left on the recruiter’s side. Two months later, the same recruiter messaged them about the same opening.
Four rounds, including a team panel, extended the process across nearly a month. The take-home was paid and took about six hours of a weekend, but it still required the candidate to set aside personal time before the employer made a decision.
The recruiter supplied a deadline: one week. Silence after that promised date left the candidate with neither a decision nor a reliable end to the process.
Two months later the same recruiter messaged the candidate about the same opening, with the earlier process still unanswered.
